How to Clean Corian Counter-Tops and Surfaces in Your Kitchen

How to clean Corian countertops

Corian worktops have enjoyed increased popularity in recent years due to their seamless nature and huge range of colours. They really complement a modern kitchen design and are also known for being highly versatile in their design. They require very little maintenance and are resistant to stains and liquids. Also, any scratches which may appear can easily be removed by sanding. Always use a trivet instead of placing hot objects directly on the worktop.

Tips for cleaning Corian worktops

The good news is that most Corian worktop stains can be cleaned with warm soapy water or dedicated worktop and countertop cleaning products such as Cif. When cleaning Corian worktops, it is advised by the manufacturers that you wipe them immediately until they are completely dry, as any water left to dry on the surface of some colours may lead to a slightly blotchy appearance. Also, darker colours will normally require more attention and care than lighter colours. If blotches do appear on your worktop, get a wet cloth and add a small portion of a gentle commercial scrubbing product like Cif. Using a circular motion in alternating directions, gently rub the blotches, then rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. You should never use scouring pads or scrubbing pads on a Corian worktop, as this will dull the surface.
